About the Author
Wu Cheng'en
Journey to the West was first published in China in the 16th century and is traditionally attributed to Wu Cheng'en, a writer of the Ming dynasty. It is celebrated as one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature — and its mischievous hero, Sun Wukong the Monkey King, has delighted readers for more than four hundred years.
This edition is retold by Low Ying Ping and illustrated by Ng Hui Fong.

L.M. Montgomery
Lucy Maud Montgomery was born on Prince Edward Island in 1874. Anne of Green Gables, first published in 1908, turned the Island and its imaginative, red-haired heroine into Canadian icons — and Anne Shirley remains one of the best-loved characters in children's literature.
This edition is retold by Brian J. Stuart and illustrated by An Ji Yeon.

DC Canada Education Publishing is holding its fourth story-writing contest for Canadian kids in Grades 1 to 6. The top 30 or so stories will be published in an illustrated storybook, and the top three winners in each category will also receive a cash prize.
Stories are judged on spelling, grammar, and creativity — a perfect challenge for a young speller. The school with the most participants wins a prize too: a gift pack of books and games.
