Step 2

Once you have a registered, a representative from Canada Super Spelling Bee will send you a list of 500 words with definitions. Now, all participating classes can begin practicing for the spelling bee. Let the excitement begin!

Step 3

Set a date! The first step is to set a date in your school calendar to have your spelling bee competition; your school can host a spelling bee day or week.

Step 4

Prepare. With your list, take time each week to study the words with your class(es). The more time the better. Students can practice at home with their families. It’s a great way to get them involved.

Step 5

Spelling Bee Time! This can be a class, grade or even school wide event. With the assistance of a Canada Super Spelling Bee representative, we will help you understand your spelling bee event to ensure you are ready. Your school will be responsible for setting up the spelling bee and providing both judges and a pronouncer. These can be teachers or even volunteer students. Don’t forget to take a picture and send it to us. The top three best spellers from your entire school will move on to compete in the International Super Spelling Bee happening July 20-21, 2024. Schools must complete their spelling bee and submit their top spellers no later than March 31, 2024.

Step 6

A representative from Canada Super Spelling Bee will contact you for the names of the top spellers. All schools will receive the new word list for the School Bee via e-mail. All students and teams across the NCR will have the same amount of time to prepare for the School Bee Competition.
